I figure I may as well make a thread about this as it was actually what prompted me to make this forum about 10 days after it happened.
This was based on basically my semantic arguments about what "voluntary" encompasses.
IE that if we:
1) choose not to rape 2) choose not to fuck men 3) choose not to jam our penises into cooked rainbow trout
That technically since these are all by broad definition "sex", our choice not to do these things is voluntarily celibacy.
We would after all, consider someone doing any of these things to be non-celibate in the sense of "having sex with something".
Even though mine was a broad discussion, Goff singled in on the 'gay content' argument to do the ban.
I now hold more of a split view. If we were to narrow the field of what "sex" is to "vaginal penetration with a fertile foid of same species that can result in reproduction" then this would exclude trouts/anal/orals but it would also necessarily exclude condom sex and that's probably too narrow because I believe the community still considers it non-celibate to have condom-protected sex with a woman.
Largely my intent is to combat the false dichotomy of voluntary vs. involuntary and recognize that there are a spectrum of factors and choices, but some reactionaries looking to exercise their power portray that out of context and many are too low-IQ to understand their deception.
Luckily the ban eventually ended (or was rescinded? hard to recall) and I think I made some assurances that I would try to be less prurient in giving examples of my concepts in future.
